Marina and Yacht Club Wi-Fi Installation on Long Island

GNS Wireless is based in Bayport. We install, configure, and support marina and yacht-club Wi-Fi across Long Island—and, for qualifying projects, throughout the Northeast.

Local commercial service

On-site marina and yacht-club work, not a planning essay

This page is for operators who need installation, configuration, and seasonal service at a Long Island or Northeast marina or yacht club.

GNS reviews the dock layout, places outdoor access points, designs wireless backhaul where the property needs it, preconfigures the equipment, and—when the location and scope allow—completes the on-site work.

For national dock-to-cabin planning, occupancy, and radio-path guidance, use the marina Wi-Fi planning guide. For equipment selection and quotes, continue to the commercial marina Wi-Fi system page.

Power PoE-powered access points with protected power supplies and injectors
Enclosures Accessible weatherproof or NEMA enclosures where required
Management Grandstream cloud management, Cambium cnMaestro, or another supported platform
Guest access Shared guest network, registered-device access, captive portal, or selected GNS Connect configuration
Bandwidth Per-network or per-client bandwidth policies where supported
Security Guest isolation, network segmentation, and platform-supported security controls
Monitoring Access-point status, client connection status, utilization, signal quality, alerts, and backhaul health

Dock-side installation

Weatherproof dock installation

Salt air, moisture, wind-driven rain, UV, snow, and ice are part of Northeast marina work. GNS selects outdoor-rated cabling, plans cable entry and drip loops, and uses corrosion-conscious mounting.

Where the property needs it, accessible NEMA or weatherproof enclosures keep PoE injectors and power supplies dry and serviceable. Grounding and surge protection are part of the install plan.

None of that makes a system immune to salt corrosion, flooding, ice, storms, lightning, or equipment failure. The goal is a serviceable outdoor installation that can be inspected and maintained.

Northeast operating calendar

Seasonal shutdown and spring recommissioning

Northern marina customers may choose to power down selected Wi-Fi and backhaul equipment for winter. GNS can help document the system and safely power down that equipment when requested.

Not every customer shuts down. Outdoor equipment does not automatically need to be removed.

GNS commonly begins Northeast recommissioning in early April. Work may begin while boats remain in dry storage and some dock areas remain affected by winter conditions.

Recommissioning may include inspections, restoring power, reconnecting cloud-managed equipment, confirming backhaul, reviewing firmware, testing guest access, and verifying coverage before the season.

How a local review starts

Property-review process

  1. Send the layout An aerial image, dock map, or marked site plan is enough to begin. Note where internet arrives, where power exists, and which slips complain first.
  2. Review the property GNS reviews dock orientation, mounting, backhaul, and guest-access needs. Qualifying local and regional projects can include a site walk.
  3. Configure, then install Equipment is selected and preconfigured. On-site installation depends on project location and scope. Cloud setup, guest policies, and monitoring follow the install.
